About Us

The name “Mabu”, is an homage to the small coastal village of Mabou on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, Canada—a cherished home away from home. In indigenous culture, it is a “place where two rivers meet.”

It’s no wonder that when we were looking to open a restaurant, we fell in love with Philadelphia—the city that lies between the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers.
