Frequently Asked Questions

What is your cancelation policy?

We require a credit card hold for parties of four and larger. There is a $20 per person charge for any cancelations/no-shows/changes in headcount within 24 hours of your reservation (a text/email reminder will be sent to you from OpenTable to confirm your party size).

Examples:

Within 24 hours: If you call to change your reservation to 5 people, there will be a charge of $20. If your reservation was for 6 people and 4 people arrive, there will be a charge of $40. If you try and cancel your full reservation or do not show up, you will be charged $120.

Why is your menu different than the last time I came?

Our menu is prepared daily and is subject to change based on availability and what’s fresh. We also feature specials and seasonal dishes for a limited time (example: Beef Bourguignon is only available in fall/winter). Popular dishes may sell out quickly so it’s best to come early or call ahead to see if it’s available that day. Note: We have two separate menus—one for dinner and one for brunch on weekends.

Do you take credit cards?

We accept all major credit cards except American Express. There is a 2.75% surcharge for all credit card transactions.

Do you charge auto-gratuity?

An automatic service charge will be added to bills for parties of five and larger.

Do you take reservations?

Yes. You can reserve online through OpenTable, or you can call us directly.

Is there a time limit on tables?

We try and allow for a 2-hour table limit, when possible. However, on busy nights and weekends, there is a 90-minute time limit. We kindly ask that you observe this to allow for other guests/reservations.

Are you BYOB?

Yes! You are welcome to bring any type of alcoholic beverage. We provide complimentary uncorking of wine/opening of other beverages. We also provide glassware and ice buckets.

Are there any drinks you do not allow?

Non-alcoholic beverages are not allowed to be brought in, but are available for sale. This includes soft drinks, organic sparkling juices, iced tea/coffee, hot tea/coffee drinks, orange juice, Virgin Bloody Mary, and a selection of non-alcoholic beers.

Do you charge a corkage fee?

We do not charge a corkage fee. We will happily uncork your bottles for free.

Is there a liquor store nearby?

Yes:

THE FOODERY—Deli-like market, craft beers/ciders (324 S. 10th St. - 3 min. walk)

ACME—Generic supermarket, wine/beer (1001 South St. - 6 min. walk)

WHOLE FOODS—Natural/organic supermarket, wine/beer (929 South St. - 7 min. walk)

Can I request a quiet table?

We are a small, one-room dining space with limited ability to provide a quiet table. If you have noise sensitivities, Monday or Tuesday evenings tend to be quieter (or outdoors when the weather permits) although we cannot guarantee it.

Should children be included in my reservation?

Children/babies/toddlers in your party that will not be sitting in your lap should be included in your reservation count (even if they are not eating: i.e., mom, dad, plus 2-year-old, would be a party of 3, not 2). We are a small space and it may be difficult to accommodate last-minute additions. Also please let us know ahead of time if you require a high chair.

What if I’m running late?

Please call if you are running late. We allow a 15-minute grace period. After that your table will be given to the next patrons.

Do you have parking?

We do not have parking on premises. Street parking is available but can be tricky. If Uber is not an option, we recommend using a parking garage in the area:

-ACME MARKET PARKING GARAGE (SP+ Parking - 545 South 11th Street - 5-min. walk). They offer complimentary 2-hour parking with a $10 ACME purchase

-SYMPHONY HOUSE PARKING GARAGE (440 S. Broad Street 6-min. walk). Close to theaters and concert halls.

Do you have outdoor seating?

Seasonal outdoor dining is available along a lovely shaded side street with potted blooms and bird serenades. Also, we are happy to set up a table outside for you off-season due to health reasons or if you’d like to bring your pet—please call ahead. (Note: outdoor seating is not heated).

Do you allow dogs?

Feel free to bring your furry friends to dine with you outdoors (reservations recommended). We will be sure to welcome them with fresh water and chin scratches.

Do you have gluten free / vegan / vegetarian menu items?

Yes, some of which are labeled on our menu, others that can be modified. Please call and speak to one of our owners for more information.

What if I have multiple food allergies?

We do our best to accommodate food allergies. However, we are a small kitchen with a very thoughtfully prepared menu that is in line with French/Southern cuisine. If you have multiple food allergies, it is best to call ahead and speak to one of our owners to see if we are able to accommodate your needs.

Are your desserts made in-house?

Yes! We have an on-site pastry chef who makes all our desserts by hand.

What if I want to bring my own cake for a birthday or other celebration?

We charge a $5 per person cakeage fee (similar to a corkage). This is to cover storage, cutting, plating, serving, clearing, and to offset loss of revenue from in-house desserts. Please let us know ahead of time if you would like to bring your own cake/dessert.

Why did my food take so long?

We are a tiny restaurant with a tiny staff, and everything we do is made to order. Wait times can lag when everyone shows up at once or we have a lot of takeout orders. If you have theater tickets or are in a rush, please inform us beforehand and we will make every effort to prioritize your order. Thanks for your patience!

Do you do private parties?

Yes, anything from birthdays, bridal/baby showers, engagement parties, graduations, business events, holiday parties, etc. Please let us know what you’re looking for and we will get back to you shortly.
